Street Children

A STREET CHILD Could be anyone who may or may not be in full time education, but are required to work to supplement their family income. These can be often identified working in the markets selling such items as candles, carrier bags and carrying heavy loads often for negligible amounts or shining shoes for the tourists. Or they me be scavenging on a rubbish tip for recycling cans and bottles.

 

Distribution

 

Distribution currently is directly to the locations where the street children work and live. Ideally in the long term we will be looking for a premises which can be rented at a low cost for this purpose. At a later stage it may be used as a 'Drop in' centre for crisis situations. We use food produced and sourced from the local markets and shops. This has many advantages of logistics and supporting the surrounding economy. This also means that food bought on that day for distribution can be checked for freshness and quality.

 

Long Term Goals

 

Our main long term goal is to make a difference. We could sit back and say that things will not change, or we can make a noticeable mark even in a very small way, but a mark will be made. Whilst maintaining our earlier achievements the eventual plan is to support a number of children through their growth and education to reach a potential they would not have had available to them.
